HIMAGRO Introduces the Agronomy in the AGREX Event at Renteng Plantation, Puslitkoka

The Agronomy Student Association (HIMAGRO) of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jember, once again held the annual AGREX (Agronomy Expression) event this year. The event took place over two days at the Renteng Plantation, Loncatan, Mangaran, Ajung District, Jember Regency. This event was attended by all new Agronomy students of the 2024 cohort, with the goal of introducing the Agronomy program while also shaping resilient students who are passionate about the agricultural world.

Fostering the Spirit of Love for Agriculture
AGREX was designed as a platform to introduce the Agronomy study program to new students. In this activity, participants were invited to explore the depths of agronomy, from land management to plant cultivation practices. Additionally, students were introduced to the department's vision and mission as well as the various opportunities they can pursue in the agricultural field.

Building a Resilient Character

In his opening speech, HIMAGRO Chairperson M. Jamrotul Faris emphasized the importance of this event as the first step in building Agronomy students who are not only resilient in facing academic challenges but also have a deep love for the agricultural world. “We don’t just learn in the classroom, but also go directly to the field to understand the realities of agriculture in Indonesia,” he said. 

Expectations for New Students
With the presence of AGREX, it is hoped that new students will be even more motivated to contribute to the advancement of the agricultural sector. HIMAGRO is committed to continuously supporting new students to develop into competent agricultural professionals who will make a positive impact on society.

The event concluded with a symbolic tree planting ceremony as a sign of love for agriculture and the spirit of sustainability advocated by HIMAGRO.
